E-consults
Email consultations are preferred and we will request an e-consult in addition to the face-to-face consult. We have found that e-consults help with clarity in communication. We ask that the client email us a detailed description [what, where, how: size/colour and why (optional)] and include supporting jpg images from our website, from google images or any other resources. It is not necessary to come in for a face-to-face consult once the e-consult has been submitted and Daemon has replied to it. However, a deposit is required before any design creation begins.
Prices
As of January 1st 2008, Daemon's hourly rate is $250 per hour.
Starting in September 2008, Daemon's hourly rate will change as below:
1-3 hour tattoo $300 per hour plus GST.
A 4 - 5 hour tattoo is $275 p/h plus GST.
For 6 or more hours the base rate will be $250 per hour.
Minimum is $400 regardless of the time. Econsults are free; face-to-face consultations are $100 (unless the client has already booked via econsult) which is deducted from the cost of the tattoo along with the deposit.
Deposits
The minimum deposit for Daemon is $300 CDN. To book a full day with Daemon, the deposit is $500 per day. Deposits may be cash, Interac, Interac money transfer or credit card (Visa, MasterCard). For online booking, Interac money transfers are preferred both for security reasons and financial charges. Most banking institutions have this online feature. If you do your banking online, you should be able to do this. You will have to add Urban Primitive (bodyart@urbanprimitive.com) to your Recipient List (or whatever your bank calls it). Please be sure to use bodyart@urbanprimitive.com as the Recipient Email Address. An email will be sent to the us notifying us of the incoming transfer. To collect the money, we must correctly answer the Security Question. Make sure the security question you choose is one we will actually be able to answer; If we can't answer it, we can't accept your deposit, and cannot guarantee your appointment time will be held.
Deposits are non-refundable, however they can be transferred to another appointment date in case of illness or emergency, and within reason can be carried over for just over one year from payment date. After one year if there is no booking, then the deposit gets calculated as income and is no longer usable by the client.
Drawings
Once we have the e-consult with reference images and the appointment is booked, Daemon will begin drawings in a first booked, first drawn order. The drawing is an outline only. There will be no details or colour added; this is done at the time of the appointment. This keeps costs down for the client. To date, we do not charge for a drawing that is to become a tattoo. A scan of the design outline will be emailed approximately 1 week before appointment date. If a client wants to see a selection of drawings, then there will be a charge for Daemon's drawing time.
Tattoo appointments
Bookings on weekends tend to fill up to 6 months in advance. Weekdays tend to fill up 3 months in advance, depending on the size of the tattoo.
